Our Story

Founded by two sisters, for their community.

Isrina Schools was founded in 2016 in Ajegunle, Lagos — a densely populated community where many children are still out of school because families cannot afford tuition.

Recognising the twin problem of plastic pollution and school access, our founders paired a low-cost school with a partnership that lets parents pay a portion of tuition using empty plastic bottles. What started as one classroom has grown into a full Early Years to Primary school.

Nearly a decade on, our model has drawn coverage from Tribune, WikkiTimes and HumanAngle — but our real measure of success is the children walking through our gate each morning.

Why affordable education matters in Ajegunle.

Ajegunle is one of Lagos' largest low-income communities. Without accessible schools, children slip out of learning early — often for good. Isrina Schools exists to keep that door open with dignity, joy and academic rigour, at a price families can actually pay.
